Build a Culture I’m Proud of: Tammy Chiasson
March 14, 2022
Connected’s President, Tammy Chiasson, shares her thoughts on building a culture she’s proud of at Connected.
Check out what aspects of our culture she’s most excited about for our Connectors.
Video caption: As President, I have two customers, Connectors and our clients. It’s my job to retain our exceptionally talented team. In this competitive tech market, is that a challenge? Of course it is. But it’s also an opportunity to build a culture I’m proud of. One that focuses on employee wellness as much as driving business results. We have completely reimagined our employee experience and rolled out a modern Total Rewards program. We have gone remote first, giving Connector’s the ability to work anywhere in Canada and abroad for 90 days. What this means is Connectors have the freedom to choose where they work based on where they will have the most professional and personal impact. We rolled out a bonus program for every Connector regardless of role and tenure. We completely revamped our benefits program and are going one step further by adding additional mental health coverage based on Connectors demand. We launched an RRSP program with WealthSimple where we match every Connector’ salary by 5%. And we chose a plan where we pay the fees, not our team. The best part is we are just getting started.

Besides being a very avid reader, Chris enjoys spending time with his two boys and partner going on hikes, exploring new towns, and cooking up a storm in their kitchen trying new culinary styles.

Global Day of Coderetreat Toronto 2022
Earlier this month, we hosted Global Day of Coderetreat (GDCR) at our Toronto office. After a three-year hiatus, we wanted to re-awaken some of the community enthusiasm when we hosted the event for the first time back in 2019. This year we planned for a larger event which turned out to be a really good thing as we nearly doubled our attendance. And in case you were wodering, this is how we did it.
